Abstract

The information and communication technologies which have been changed the traditional consumption behaviors quickly and effectively, has led to the development of different mechanisms and the emergence of new areas for consumption. However, the pandemic, which has affected all countries and industries since the first months of 2020, has led to the reshaping of these behaviors and the emergence of a different consumption process. The pandemic crisis, which has driven industries with direct and/or indirect economic impacts, such as travel and accommodation, to unprecedented declines; created an environment in which uncertainty increased. Sharing economy platforms, which have attracted attention with the increase in the number of businesses and users operating recently, are one of the sectors that are highly affected by this process. In this context, the study aimed to examine the factors that affect the continuance use of sharing economy platforms, which increase the mutual sharing between individuals through economic gains, especially in the service sector. Based on the sharing economy, the components that affect the continuance intentions of consumers in their use of platforms and services during the pandemic were measured with the data collected through the questionnaire. The hypotheses were tested with the partial least squares-structural equation model (PLS-SEM). It has been observed that; perceived value, perceived usefulness and habit have statistically significant and positive effects on users' continuance intentions during the pandemic process. And the perceived risk and imitating others factors did not have a statistically significant effect on the continuance intentions of the users.
