Three-dimensional brands constitute the subject of the study. In the study, trademark registration applications of three-dimensional brands in Turkey have been examined. In addition, in the study, it is aimed to reveal the problems by examining the lawsuits of three-dimensional brands filed in the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Law Court for legal reasons. For this purpose, 323 “three-dimensional brands” registered by the Turkish Patent Institute were analyzed by means of a document review method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, in the last 21 years since 1995 the beginning year of the registration of brands – until today. In the study, the lawsuits about three-dimensional brands and design brands filed in the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Law Court were investigated. As a result, it is revealed that problems have risen due to the similarities or distinguishing elements of previously registered brands.
