Abstract

Studies show that there is no consensus in the literature on the relationships between motivations, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. Inconsistent results of prior studies are the main motive of the current research. The current research, it was examined the mediating effect of tourist satisfaction on the relationship between travel motivations and behavioral intentions. The population of the research is domestic tourists, and the research was conducted in Mardin which is found in Southeastern Anatolia, Türkiye. Research data was collected through a questionnaire and convenience sampling method (n= 390). The bootstrapping method was used to test the mediation effect. According to the results of the analysis, the hypothesis developed regarding the partial mediating role of tourist satisfaction in the impact of travel motivations on behavioral intentions was partially supported. Also, the mediating role has been found to be significant. The research findings were discussed within the scope of the literature, and some suggestions were made.
