Abstract

In the late 20th century, approximately between 1997-2000, – a set of hardware and software technologies had an enormous diffusion and radically changed most of our economic and social life. Together with these changes, organizations have begun to make significant investments on the development of websites for destination marketing as part of their overall promotional efforts. The purpose of this study is to reveal which of the social media applications has been used in relational dimension by 5-star hotel in Antalya and to mention the importance of social media in the tourism sector in the light of previously conducted studies on social media. Social media applications that are the most used by 5-star hotels in Antalya are Facebook and Twitter. Only 97 5-star hotel in Antalya prefer the TripAdvisor that evaluates of travel contents and link to this site in their web site. It is seen that the least preferred social media application is.
