TURİSTİK DESTİNASYONLARDA TURİZMİN ETKİLERİNE YEREL HALKIN BAKIŞ AÇISI: ÇEŞME ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

In the destinations where tourism develops, there are positive effects primarily in economic terms. This is followed by social, cultural and environmental developments. However, the effects of tourism are not only positive but also environmental, social and cultural distortions can be seen. Undoubtedly, what is affected mostly by the positive and negative effects that arose are the people of the region where tourism develops. For this reason, the aim of this study is to reveal the tourism perception of the people living in Çeşme. Tourism is developing every year in the Çeşme district, but no research has been conducted on the tourism perception of the locals. A research form was created and face to face questionnaire technique was used. When the results were evaluated, it was determined that the participants supported the tourism development despite its negative impacts on their social lives during certain periods of the year.
