Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

All processes applied in the Journal of Recreation and Tourism Research (JRTR) aim to contribute to publishing within the framework of academic ethics. Scientific principles and ethical rules must be followed for the author(s), referee(s), editors and readers throughout the whole process. In this context, the publication ethics and open access policy of the journal are also in line with the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in open access (For example, the "Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct and For Journal Editors". Best Practice Guidelines; “Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors” and “COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors”) require that all components of the publication process comply with ethical principles. The submitted studies are first examined for their eligibility in terms of spelling rules and journal subject. If the editors do not approve, the publication will be rejected. Studies approved by the editor will be sent to referees who have expertise in terms of publisher referee suggestions and subject scope. The refereeing process is done in the form of double-blind refereeing. The process will continue in the form of acceptance, revision and rejection within the scope of referee reports. If deemed necessary by the referees, revision procedures should be completed within the process determined by the editor. For articles requiring changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised article is acceptable. The acceptance letter will be given after the revision process. Author/Responsible Author will be informed about possible publication date. When the author(s) detects a material error or inaccuracy in their article published in JRTR, they must immediately notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the article.

Dear Authors,

When evaluating the articles you submit, we attach great importance to their evaluation in line with ethical principles. This text has been prepared to guide you in the ethically correct preparation and presentation of your articles.

1. Research Ethics: If the research work presented in your article includes an experiment or observation on humans, you must ensure that it complies with the ethical rules. In studies with human subjects, it is important to pay special attention to ethical issues such as obtaining informed consent and confidentiality and privacy.

2. Data Collection and Analysis: You must ensure that the data presented in your article is accurate, complete and reliable. In the data collection process, you should pay attention to issues such as using scientific methods, minimizing measurement errors, explaining the sampling process and recording the data correctly. It is also important to analyze the data in accordance with ethical rules, to use the correct statistical methods and to present the results in an impartial manner.

3. Plagiarism and Unethical Behaviors: When preparing your article, you should avoid plagiarizing the ideas, data or work of others. When citing, it is necessary to cite sources accurately, to respect the work of others, and to use plagiarism reporting tools. It is also unacceptable to present misleading data, manipulate results, falsify data, or engage in other unethical behavior.

4. Ethical Permissions and Approvals: If the research presented in your article requires ethics committee approval, you should state that you have obtained ethics committee approval. Obtaining ethics committee approval for studies conducted on humans, animals or other living things indicates that the research is ethically appropriate. For studies that do not require ethical approval, the necessary information should be provided in the form of a note during article submission.

5. Conflict of Interest: If there is any financial conflict of interest, industrial affiliation or sponsorship relationship, you must specify at the end of your article.

In addition to this information, "Within the scope of TR Dizin 2020 criteria, research articles must obtain ETHICS COMMITTEE PERMISSION and information about the permission (name of the board, date and number) must be specified in the method section of the article. In addition, the "ETHICS COMMITTEE PERMISSION" document must be sent as an additional document when submitting the article". Studies that require ethics committee permission will not be accepted unless necessary permissions are obtained.
