The Evaluation of the Gumushane Krom Valley and Its Surroundings in The Historical Process in Term Of Cultural Tourism Opportunities
The discovery of cultural structures belonging to different civilizations makes the concept of tourism a more popular subject and allows for the diversification of cultural activities. The reason for the preference of religious buildings is that the region has hosted many civilizations and the chapels and churches built in the region by the secret Christian people who make up their ethnic origin. The spread of the religion of Islam with the dominance of the Ottoman state in this area in the temporal process caused the Christians living in the region to practice their religion secretly. History BC This region, which dates back to 4000 and has great archaeological importance, was accepted as a 3rd Degree Archaeological Site in 2010. There are 17 registered churches and chapels along the valley. As a result of the examination, observation and survey studies carried out in the area, 7 churches from historical religious buildings were examined. Data were collected as qualitative and quantitative data. The survey was carried out with local people and local tourists who know the valley and live there. The reason why the participants are mostly from Trabzon is that the people of Trabzon bought real estate in the area where the chrome zone is located after the war period. Therefore, this region is used as a plateau by the people of Trabzon origin during the summer months. The obtained data were interpreted by making content analysis with the help of Nvivo 11 program. As a result of the analysis, solutions were developed to increase the recognition of the region in terms of tourism, and two different alternative walking routes were determined over 7 churches. In the future studies to make Gümüşhane a tourism city, it is thought that this study conducted throughout the Krom valley will contribute to the promotion of the region in terms of tourism.
