Abstract

Hunting tourism is a type of alternative tourism aiming to make available hunting and wildlife resources under the control of domestic and foreign hunters and to contribute to the economy by evaluating these resources from recreational and touristic aspects. Outlays for hunting tourism dollars while spending an average of 750 tourists came to Turkey up to 2000 dollars per tourist. In some cases, this amount can reach up to 10-20 thousand dollars. Considering these positive effects of hunting tourism, the importance of research on this subject will be easily seen. In this context, the reasons why tourists prefer hunting tourism have been revealed. In addition, some suggestions were made for the development of hunting tourism. The data were obtained by interviewing 9 tourists participating in hunting tourism. As a result of the research, it was seen that the participants prefer hunting tourism mostly for healthy life and relaxation. However, it has been determined that the participants mostly need to tighten the controls on the development of hunting tourism and develop conscious hunting.
