YEREL HALKIN REKREASYONEL ETKİNLİKLERE KATILIMINI ENGELLEYEN FAKTÖRLER: GİRESUN İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the obstacles in participation of the local people in recreational activities. For the purpose of this study, three hundred and eighty seven local people in the city of Giresun took part in the survey. The obtained data of the survey was used to analyze distribution, frequency, t-test and ANOVA. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences between the local people's gender, age, the level of education, household income and dimensions of leisure time barriers. According to analysis, it was concluded that male participants had greater lack of information than female participants, working participants had less time than those who didn't work, the participants who were within the age group of 25 and below perceived the sub dimension of money as a bigger barrier in comparison to other age groups, the participants who were 56 and over perceived the time sub-dimension as a lesser obstacle, the participants who had university education were less influenced by transportation sub-dimension than those with other educational levels, the participants whose monthly household income was 2,000TL or below were influenced by finance and social environment sub-dimension, the participants who had a monthly household income of between 2,001-4,000TL considered lack of information and transportation sub-dimension as a barrier to participate in comparison to other income levels.
