Yerel Halkın Kırsal Turizme İlişkin Tutumlarının İncelenmesi: Balıkesir Örneği

Abstract

Along with the diversification of tourism and the emergence of alternative tourism types, the phenomenon of tourism has passed over being limited with sea, sand and sun tourism this has caused reshaping individuals’ attitudes toward tourism. The main purpose of the research is to determine the rural tourism attitudes of the local people living in Balıkesir. The population of the research consists of local people living in Balıkesir. For the purpose of the research, the data were obtained face to face by using a questionnaire, which is one of the data collection tools from local people living in the various districts province. Data were subjected to factor analysis, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance and frequency analysis, the rural tourism attitudes of the local people were determined. In line with the findings obtained, it was concluded that the local people living in Balıkesir have a positive attitude towards rural tourism, they see tourism as a means of existence for themselves and they support rural tourism investments in Balıkesir
