Abstract

Increased internet usage depending on technological developments affected tourism as the other industries and people started to use internet for travel planning as well. This caused the internet should be used as a destination marketing tool and all globally branding cities have created their own official web sites. The aim of this research is to compare the performance and functionality of the brand cities’ web sites. With this aim, the sites have been analyzed by using metric analysis tools and results have been compared with the site of İstanbul, and recommendations to make the site perform better have been presented.
