Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Kişilik Özelliklerinin Rekreasyon Faaliyetlerine Katılım Düzeyi Üzerindeki Etkisi: Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Örneği

Abstract

In this study, which aims to investigate the effect of personality traits of students studying at Afyon Kocatepe University, Faculty of Tourism on the level of participation in recreation activities, the concepts of traits are examined. In addition the study focused on the effect of students’ personality traits on the recreational activities the different types of personality traits were directed towards. For this purpose, a questionnaire has been prepared to university students. This questionnaire was applied to students studying at the Faculty of Tourism of Afyon Kocatepe University and 390 evaluable questionnaires were reached. The data obtained from the questionnaires were reached. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed with the SPSS package program. In the study, the students of the Faculty of Tourism showed the most responsibility traits they shoewd the least were neuroticism (emotional balance) personality traits. Apart from neurotic personality traits, positive, significant and weak relationships were found between all other personality traits (extraversion, openness, subsistence and responsibility) and leisure motivation levels (intellectual social, competence mastery, repulsive- attractive). It was determined that the leisure motivation levels of the students of the Faculty of Tourism were above the middle level.
