Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the career expectations, personality traits and life satisfaction levels of tourism students in secondary education. Also, in this study, it will be tried to show whether the students' career expectations, personality traits and life satisfaction levels differ according to some demographic variables. Questionnaire was applied to 211 students studying in Anatolian Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Istanbul. For comparison of quantitative data to determine the difference between two groups "Mann-Whitney U", with more than two groups to determine the difference between the data "Kruskal-Wallis" test was applied. As a result of the research, it has been determined that students are willing to make a career in the tourism industry and receive education in the field of tourism and are not satisfied with their lives. It was determined that students were above average of personality traits of agreeableness, extraversion, conscientiousness, openness besides, neuroticism situations were low and not satisfied with their lives. As a result of the difference tests between demographic variables and scales; It was determined that there was a significant difference between only classroom variables and neuroticism.
